The Sigma 65mm f/2 DG DN focuses as close as 0.55m and at around this distance, there is only slight spherical aberration (SA). They are only seperated by $200 price wise. But the Tarmon is 1lb lighter and 2 inches shorter, of course that being not extended. One pound might not sound like a lot unless you are hiking several miles.
