Brand new cd skipping.

It's a double LP picture disc album. Brand new, never played. The other brand new LP that I was playing was KISS MTV Unplugged on yellow vinyl, and it was skipping also. I bought them at the same time, so I doubt that this is just some coincidence. I've had several other new LP's as well not skipping, but making a horrible deep scratching noise ... Suitcase/all-in-one style players can definitely cause records to skip (because they are cheaply made and terrible quality). If your record player has a counterweight, make sure it's set correctly. I have the UBP-X700 and have the same issue. It never freezes when playing DVDs or BluRay - only UHDs. It froze on TopGun UHD purchased brand new. But when I cleaned the disc, it worked fine.
