The fix was to take an Xacto knife and scrape the top part of this outline. It probably required a MM or less of material removal. You caould also probably slightly file the thumb lever itself, but it would need to be removed. Hopefully Ruger reads these forums - the problem could easily be fixed by grinding a MM off the bottom of the thumb lever.

Rotated the take down lever until it stopped. Pulled the slide rearward to drop slide stop and allowed it to move slowly forward.
