I'd like to get my fresh start on an RP realm, and while RP is kind of my focus, I'd also like to have a community around to actually play the game, in addition to RP. It looks like Dalaran-WoW is going to be launching a fresh WoTLK server and that the original realm, Algalon, will be used as an archive server. Likely with each fresh server release, the old will be merged into Algalon. The new server name appears to be Dalaran. Link below for more info.

I have realized that I have missed Alliance architecture. I've been missing alliance for the past 8 years since I moved to Kazzak, started alliance back in 2007 ... Thanks ! According to wowprogress, Silvermoon is indeed the most active server for Alliance EU. Ravencrest is second. WoW is a decent game for sake of a game to play, it’s not/never going to be an amazing or complex story, and honestly it’s more transparent than a Disney Marvel movie (not to mention potentially copied, thanks Danuser) and when it comes to actual game play your mileage will vary based on what class/spec you play.

Dalaran wow has outdated inferior scripts and low pop, while Cromiecraft is still in its lvling phase (they release 10 by 10 lvls every few months or so) with sub 1k pop at best and by now is considered a meme in the community. Other servers like old sunwells and whitemanes realms are empty.

Having everyone on a realm be your faction means ALOT more players. Whereas the 50/50 split could make a big realm feel like a low pop one. I'm not sure of the status of the big pvp realms but I'm pretty sure the top ones like sargeras, Illidan and tichondrius are all weighted one way or the other as well.(again pvpers can chime in here)

Silvermoon, sylvanas, Ravencrest, agent dawn (rp) from memory. That's ArgentDawn. Shows population per side for all servers. Silvermoon, Ravencrest (though it's way smaller than Silvermoon) and potentially Argent Dawn if RP interests you. The remaining English realms are either small or Horde-dominated. Really good at PvP more than decent in PvE. lots of players online. The realm status is a steady "high". But do not go horde on Ravencrest, completely dead.
